So you've checked out the FAQ page, gotten familiar with the route and are now ready to take the plunge. The first step is to fill out the online portion of the application. Once that is done all you need to do is download the PDF file, fill it out completely, print it, sign it and then upload it to our cool online system. It's all pretty easy, and there are thorough instructions included in the PDF file. What are you waiting for?

Apply to Lead
Please Note: Only previous Bike & Build participants will be considered for leadership positions on the Capital Ride.
Thank you for your interest in leading the fifth annual Bike & Build Capital Ride. Trip Leaders work with Bike & Build’s central office from the spring through the completion of the trip to recruit and support trip participants, coordinate fundraising efforts, plan logistics, and lead the event during the summer. A written job description is included on the next page. The leader application consists of nine sections, which are explained in the downloadable PDF file below.
A Trip Leader’s role is extremely demanding and rewarding. In addition to meeting the demands of a multi-day cycling trip, you’ll be responsible for supporting and managing thirty of your peers and working as a team with three other leaders.
Due to the shorter timeframe of the regional trip, we are requiring that our leaders have previously completed our cross country program either as a rider or as a leader. We are very fortunate and proud to have such a large base of exceptional young adults as alumni of our program, and we feel that the ride will go much smoother with their existing knowledge and cycling experience. Successful applicants will be able to undertake multiple tasks at once, manage their time well, and meet stated deadlines; be detail-oriented and meticulous about planning logistics and managing information and resources; think critically about Bike & Build and its mission, and translate this into a proper tone during the event; communicate well with and relate to peers their age, showing patience, compassion, and care, while maintaining authority and professionalism. Please review the below job description and application. If you have any questions regarding the Trip Leader position or application process, please contact either Brendan or Natalie at (267)-331-8488 or applications@bikeandbuild.org.
